Jamie Wu was born in Guangzhou, China. She began her acting career shortly after graduating from USC. She left L.A. but her love for the film industry stayed with her upon coming back to Seattle.
Since then, she has been featured in numerous short films in Seattle, WA. She has received awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor in the Seattle 48 Hour Film projects, one of which made its way to Filmapalooza as the grand prize winner in 2020. Aside from being an actor, she writes and directs stories about the Asian-American experience. Her latest film Resilience about her mom and her sexual harassment experience at work had its world premiere in the 2020 Seattle Asian American Film Festival.
Jamie is passionate about writing narratives that center around her Chinese-American up-bringing and her faith in God. She hopes her original stories will bring fresh perspectives and new styles of filmmaking into Hollywood and inspire others to write, act and direct their own stories.
2024 films currently in post-production include: Uncooked (dir. Rishi Raj).
Watch out for her in upcoming original films and nationwide commercials!
